Greenroom Festival, Japan. 3rd Time's A Charm!

Another Greenroom done and dusted. Such an amazing couple of days meeting new people, a lot of bowing & business card exchanging. Despite the heart breaking troubles this country has had over the past 3 months, there was plenty of support for the festival and for the surf community, giving everyone a reason and opportunity to have a good time. The turnout was in excess of 12,000 people, many of the old faces weren't present, but many new ones took their place bringing with them an unfamiliar twist on surf culture.

Remain In Balance @ Beams T

Monday night 16th of May, TCSS crew hung Steven Harrington's show and TCSS wall at Beams T, Harajuku, JP!!!!

We plugged away at it until the early hours of the morning, as everything takes that little bit extra time in Japan (translation n' what not) but sooooo well worth it! Big thanks to Beams T staff, Masahiro, Tamio and not to forget Steven Harrington. Proceeds from the show will be donated to Tsunami victims, via the Red Cross. The show is up until 6 June.

Aloha Sunday - this Saturday

Aloha Sunday is opening this Saturday May 7th in San Diego, go check it out if you're in the hood. This is a new project for Kahana Kalama and TCSS is proud to be in the line-up.

Kahana tells us a little about the new store

"This Saturday I'll be unveiling a little project that I've been working on for a bit. I'm opening a retail space in the heart of North Park - San Diego, that will offer a collection of surf-inspired clothing and craft.

Growing up in Hawaii I was enthralled by the commonly used phrase "Aloha Friday" which is basically a celebration of the end of the workweek. As a play on this concept I'm calling the shop Aloha Sunday... a challenge and encouragement to live passionately and in a way that celebrates the days ahead.

The interior of the space is adorned with reclaimed materials and salvaged barn-wood from a family friends barn in Northern Oregon. If you have a second take a look at this short edit documenting the process of getting the wood into the space:"
