so, here's the concept...

.... TCSS has been invited back to the GreenRoom Festival in Japan this month and we wanted to come up with something a little different..... something about surf, art, history and teamwork (& power tools)

we commissioned Sage Joske & Paul Joske from Valla Surfboards to craft 5 paulownia alaias, based on their research of the original boards in the Bishop Museum, Hawaii.

we then farmed those wooden canvases out to 5 of our artists with an open brief to embellish the deck how they see fit.... no pressure!!

the contributing artists are Ben Waters, Steven Harrington, Damien Horan, Tyler Warren & yours truly.

I leave for Tokyo in 14 days with 4 of these alaias under my arm - Tyler Warren's piece will be flying solo from Cali. over the next 2 weeks we will be showing you each artists progress right up to opening night.
