....to all our riders & sliders & good time gliders a very happy xmas from TCSS... thanks to everyone for their support during our first year of making sea trousers!
I took the above shots at Coney Island NY in September. Was a stinking hot day and the place was deserted. The hand painted typography made the long train ride out worthwhile. Monkeys delivering giant Hotdogs and Clams with Top Hats..who would have thought.
had a visit from Hayden Cox last week when he brought home my new "Nothing Suss" board - a project we're collaborating on together. Part of the Plunder series due for release next year, it's a single fin stubbie shape for all types of conditions up to 6-8 ft faces. Took it for a test drive at Macs on the weekend - Kid Carl, Brown Trout & Jay Gill all gave it the seal of approval. Goes like a rocket yessir.

.... just spent a few good hours reading through the different profiles of surfin' folk atLiquid Saltincluding ButtonsKaluhiokalani, Gerry Lopez and local lad Luke Taaffe.
a simple format, each subject is asked the same questions about what makes them tick... the consistent theme is a love of the ocean & mexican food
And 50ft of it. The Quikky Eddie Aikau comp has been postponed until the big swell hits, currently it's only at around 25ft and needs it to hit 40ft before they can kick it off. 'The swell is being compared to the legendary waves that battered the coasts on December 1969, known as the biggest to hit the North Shore in the past half-century.' taken from big island video news. If anyone has any photos from Oahu, shoot em on through. We'd love to post them.
I fondly remember back in the early 90's when Stussy first dropped into Australian stores. Within days I had mastered the Stussy logo with a Posca pen and emblazoned it across both my pencil case and underside of my school bag. I got a tip-off that Shawn has a rockin blog with a mix of fashion, surf and fine women, three things in the TCSS top 5. Nice shot of da CAT..
TCSS is a slippery little creature. Wrestled from the minds, pencils & sketchbooks of a small few in Australia & the United States, it has been fed on a strict diet of colourful foam mowers, soulful skeg flexers (past & present) and the versatility of the humble surf craft beneath our feet. It currently resides in the back shed, along with the wolf rider & a sewing machine, stitching tidy tees & trunks for it's owners & whoever else might be interested.
