... still can't quite believe the power of the quake that hit Japan last week, holy hell what a nightmare! Was just checking out the photos at the Boston Globe and they have the energy map above showing the force of the tsunami extending down from Japan. That's a powerful lot of water.

noosa!

... it's on again.. the noosa festival of surfing... such a good time, this little town comes alive with great personalities... your wave count might go down a tad but it's well worth it for the entertainment value

The slider in it is actually myself riding Central Coast's Changi Logs, and there are a few unknowns just doing their thing that i happened to capture. Shot while my wife Linda and i are traveling around Oz doing the hippy trail.

Most of the spots in the short were on the south coast of NSW and out at good old Terrigal Bend.

TCSS & Far East

I'm hanging in Japan with our Distributor this week and talks are just starting around our involvement in The Greenroom Festival (21-22 May). It pulls a crowd of around 10,000 surf, music and art passionate people and we're planning on being there. Always a good time with a great collection of talent from around the globe. Generally Elle shoots Japan for us... sorry for rockin' on ya dime, here's a couple of snaps from my last couple of days. Not really surf related, more pop-cultural. Surf does have a noticeable influence here on fashion, art and graphics.

Skyping Jim and Suzie just isn't the same without a cutesy latte..

TCSS are in Hong Kong at the moment doing some fabric research. Staying in Hollywood Rd..a long way from Cali. A few nice pieces of street art below and not much surf to speak of. Lots of bankers and trust fund kids. Off to Japan..

Witness the great master Martin Worthington performing onsite board sprays - Tony Airspeed will be in the yard pinstriping your bare breasts or bicycles - bring something you wanted attacked with a blade brush.

For the woodheads, there will be hand shaping of timber alaia boards as well as display and demos from gurus of wood surf sleds, Grown.

Plus the usual mix of vintage surfboards, print art and bric-a-brac from Jeff and other ye old ware mongers.

Stefan's Vintage Wall Of Joy - with only pre 1990's boards - will be rolling throughout the day where you can put your own down on consignment for the day whilst you haggle.

On top of all that, the famous Deus Food Emporium will be dishing out delectables, not to mention the lucky door prizes and general good times, etc.

Gates swing open at 10am.

... have just returned home from a month long production run in Bali... yes, I know, tough gig! Every morning after surf check and papaya juice, I would mount my trusty iron horse and head off to Hari's screen-printing factory for a day of proofing... (works in progress shots later)

the sights, sounds and smells of Bali on the move is something to behold and I kept my Canon in the top pocket to capture some of my fellow commuters:
